Latest developments live from UK Space Conference 2025, stand A33
Celestia UK is announcing at the UK Space Conference 2025 that it has commenced the preproduction stage of a new generation of ground station gateway. The milestone marks a major step forward in proving that phased array ground stations are now ready for commercial deployment.
The Edinburgh based business, part of the pan-European Celestia group, has started building preproduction units of the world’s first multi-beam Ka-band gateway following the successful extended testing of the system with JoeySat, validating the gateway’s ability to communicate reliably with spacecraft over a nine month period.
“With the green light to move ahead, our teams have already started work on the first preproduction units of the Ka-band gateway, showing that the era of electronically steered gateways has now arrived,” says Dr Malachy Devlin, CEO of Celestia UK.
“This marks a key stage in the evolution of our work on the UK Space Agency supported Sunrise project with ESA and Eutelsat OneWeb, as phased array systems transition into commercially viable solutions.
